South-South support groups of the All Progressives Congress have vowed to deliver the region to the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and running mate Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 presidential election.

The groups said the era of political domination by the Peoples Democratic Party in the region is over, adding that they would mobilise for the APC to take control of the region.

Addressing party faithfuls during a mini-rally which held on Friday at Nsima Ekere playground, along 4 Lane, Uyo, the state Chairman Coalition of Support Groups in Akwa Ibom State, Honurable Patty Inemeh, urged the groups to mobilise their members in their respective states to work together to end the domination of the PDP in the region.

He said, “Let me assure all of us here that Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket is in the best interest of the South-South, we must go back to mobilise our members to vote for APC in the forthcoming elections, we must not allow the  mistake of 2015 and 2019 to repeat themselves in 2023, we must work to vote out PDP in the South-South.

The chairman, while acknowledging the complimentary support of APC leaders in Akwa Ibom State, including Senator Godswill Akpabio, Obong Udofia and others, urged the support groups to be the “torch light bearers” to highlight the need to vote and work for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He reminded the support groups of their job urging members to get ready for mass mobilisation movements that will soon hit all the local governments, wards and units.

In his remarks, the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Okon, who was represented by a former state chairman of the party, Dr Ahmadu Attai, promised to support the groups in their assignment and task of mass mobilisation.

He also extolled the leadership qualities of the APC presidential candidate and his running mate, adding that theie leadership would bring goodwill to the region.

“I urge you to work for Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket because their  experience would greatly help Nigeria at this point.”

The Director South-South Directorate PCC, Ntufam Etta, urged the people not to vote the PDP or YPP assuring the home crowd that their interest is most protected in the APC.

The APC governorship candidate in the state, Akan Udofia, while extolling Godswill Akpabio at the occasion, urged the people to vote out PDP in the state.
